Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 April 2026

This policy explains what data FXV Performance ("we", "our", "FXV") collects when you use the FXV Performance mobile app or website, what we do with it, and the controls you have. We've written it to be specific rather than generic — every category below corresponds to actual data the app handles.

Short version: we collect the minimum needed to generate your training programme, track your workouts, and let the AI Coach reason about your recovery. We do not sell your data, do not share it with advertisers, and do not use your training data to train any AI model.

1. Who's responsible

FXV Performance is operated by Alex Bigby (United Kingdom). Contact: hello@fxvperformance.com.

2. What data we collect, and why

Account data

Email
From sign-up or Sign in with Apple. Used to identify your account and send transactional notifications (e.g. password reset).
Name
Optional display name shown inside the app. Never displayed to anyone else.
Date of birth
Used for age-based heart-rate calculations (HRmax = 220 − age) and metabolic estimates. Not displayed.
Sex
Used for sex-specific physiology coefficients (Banister TRIMP, calorie estimation). Optional.
Height & weight
Used for mechanical-load calculations and stride-length estimation in run tracking. Optional.

Health & fitness data

Apple HealthKit
With your explicit permission, FXV reads: steps, active energy, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, walking heart-rate average, heart-rate recovery, sleep analysis, workouts, body mass, VO2 max, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation. We write completed workouts back to Apple Health (workout type, duration, calories, distance). HealthKit data is read on-device and used to compute your readiness score and inform programme adjustments.
Bluetooth heart-rate strap
Real-time HR samples from Polar / Garmin / Wahoo straps during sessions. Used live for zone display and saved as session summary statistics. Only the summary (avg HR, peak HR, time in zones, TRIMP) is stored on our servers.
Logged sessions
Sets, reps, weight, RPE, completion timestamps. The basis of your programme adjustments and PR detection.
Recovery readings
HRV / RHR / sleep — read from Apple Health, summarised, stored as a daily snapshot to power the Readiness score and trend chart.

Location data

FXV requests location only during outdoor run or ride sessions when you explicitly tap "Start GPS". Location is used to record route, distance, pace, splits, and elevation. The location task stops the moment you finish, pause, or abandon the session, and an additional safety check on app launch stops any orphaned location task. We never request location for any other purpose.

Background location is used only while a run/ride session is active so distance and pace stay accurate when your phone screen is off. We never collect background location outside an active session.

Coach (AI) interactions

When you send a message to the in-app Coach, we send the following to Anthropic (the AI provider that powers Coach):

Anthropic processes the request and returns a response. Per Anthropic's API terms, your message data is not used to train Anthropic's models. We log Coach conversations on our own servers for support and improvement; you can request deletion of these logs alongside your account.
