Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data FXV Performance ("we", "our", "FXV") collects when you use the FXV Performance mobile app or website, what we do with it, and the controls you have. We've written it to be specific rather than generic — every category below corresponds to actual data the app handles.

2. What data we collect, and why
Account data
Health & fitness data
Location data
FXV requests location only during outdoor run or ride sessions when you explicitly tap "Start GPS". Location is used to record route, distance, pace, splits, and elevation. The location task stops the moment you finish, pause, or abandon the session, and an additional safety check on app launch stops any orphaned location task. We never request location for any other purpose.
Background location is used only while a run/ride session is active so distance and pace stay accurate when your phone screen is off. We never collect background location outside an active session.
Coach (AI) interactions
When you send a message to the in-app Coach, we send the following to Anthropic (the AI provider that powers Coach):
- Your message and the most recent ~10 turns of conversation history
- A "context block": current readiness score, HRV, resting HR, sleep hours, recent workouts, week-to-date training load, and your current programme summary
- Your display name (if set), so Coach can address you by name
Anthropic processes the request and returns a response. Per Anthropic's API terms, your message data is not used to train Anthropic's models. We log Coach conversations on our own servers for support and improvement; you can request deletion of these logs alongside your account.
3. What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or analytics brokers.
- We do not use your training data to train any machine-learning model — yours or anyone else's.
- We do not request location, microphone, contacts, photos, or camera access for anything other than the strict purposes above.
- We do not upload your raw HealthKit history. Only the summary metrics shown in the app are sent to our servers.
4. Where your data lives
- Supabase (EU region) — our database and authentication provider. Stores your account, programme, logged sessions, recovery snapshots, and Coach conversation logs. Encrypted at rest.
- Apple HealthKit — stays on your device. We never transmit raw HealthKit data; only computed summaries.
- Anthropic (US) — processes Coach messages in real time. Per Anthropic's API terms, message contents are not used to train their models.
- Apple App Store / RevenueCat — handles your subscription billing. We never receive your payment-card details.
5. How long we keep it
- Account & training data: for as long as you have an account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Coach conversations: kept up to 12 months for support & quality improvement, then automatically deleted.
- Crash & diagnostic logs: kept up to 30 days, anonymised after that.
- Backups: overwritten on a 30-day rolling cycle; deleted accounts are purged from backups within 60 days.
6. Your rights and controls
Inside the app
- Delete your account. Open Profile → "Delete account". This permanently erases your programme, all logged sessions, recovery data, Coach conversations, and your account credentials. Cannot be undone.
- Revoke HealthKit access. iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → FXV Performance → toggle categories off.
- Revoke Location access. iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → FXV Performance → choose "Never" or "While Using".
- Revoke Bluetooth access. iOS Settings → Bluetooth → FXV Performance → toggle off (will disable HR-strap pairing).
By writing to us
UK and EEA residents have the right under UK GDPR / EU GDPR to access, rectify, port, restrict, or delete personal data we hold. Email hello@fxvperformance.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.
7. Children
FXV Performance is intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Minor clarifications are reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top.

If you're an EEA / UK resident and unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g. the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk).
